Week 3 Blog post

The song that I chose this week was ''Aint Misbehavin'' by Louis Armstrong. I chose this song in all honesty because I recognized his name as the singer from the song ''What a Wonderful World'' and I wanted to listen to another song by him. This song was quite different than ''What a Wonderful world'' but I still really enjoyed listening to it. What I thought was interesting was how the song starts with the first minute being the beat of the song and ends with the last minute being just the beat again. There was only about a minute or so of Louis actually singing. I am glad I had the opportunity to listen to another Louis Armstrong song because he is such a great singer and such a one of a kind voice. Another thing that I noticed was the the flow of the song, it just has that old school feel to it that makes it really fun to listen to. So, my conclusion is that Louis Armstrong did a great job with this one and even though it wasn't exactly what I was expecting I absolutely loved the song.

  1. I love how you went into listening to the song with an open mind, because it is very diffrent then his popular song " What a Wonderful world". I also found it really interesting on the lack of words in this songs. The one minute of no words is defiantly interesting compared to today's music types.

  2. Louis Armstrong is one of my favorite jazz artists and I love how unique his voice is. The music in this song was very catchy and felt like it would play in an old speakeasy. Armstrong was actually one of the first jazz singers I've heard and his music helped me to become a huge jazz fan. This song was different from most of his other songs, but it was amazing nonetheless.

  3. I think it's cool that artists can have completely different sounding songs, yet they're still so good. I like how you had an expectation going in but then he did something completely different. I also like the flow of this song. It's also interesting that the first and last minute of this song were just the beat. Great job!
