For this week I decided to listen to and analyze "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. I chose this song because the title looked very familiar, and I wanted to see if I really have heard it or not. So, after listening to the song, I realized I have heard it. Not only have I heard it I realized it's a song I grew up listening to. I guess I just didn't put two and two together. The song is nothing short of a masterpiece. Aretha Franklin has one of best voices I have ever heard in my life, something about it seems as if she could sing just about anything and it would sound great. Throughout the entire song she displays some great range in her voice that just captivates your attention and has you wanting more. I thought the song was written and executed very well and that's why it is so beloved and well known even to this day. Overall, it's a beautiful song that I recommend everyone listen to.
